The driver of the car has been arrested.

PEORIA, Ill. -

A man is dead after a crash between a motorcycle and a car Saturday morning.

Peoria police responded to the 3100 block of West Charter Oak Road around 6:00 a.m. on Saturday. 43 year-old Timothy Duncan was treated for his injures on scene, but later died at a local hospital from blunt force trama.

Police say the driver of the car involved in the crash originally left the scene, but did return to talk to officers. The car was apparently heading east on Charter Oak Road, trying to make a left hand turn, when it collided with the motorcycle going in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car was arrested and cited with Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, Failure to yield making a left turn, Failure to render aid, and Hit and Run. He is in the Peoria County Jail.
