Cat Workers From Joliet Still Raising Signs in Protest

PEORIA- Cat employees from Joliet were protesting in front of Caterpillar headquarters in downtown Peoria Thursday.

The workers still don't think an increase in health insurance contributions, coupled with six years of flat wages is fair. They want Cat to come up with a new contract.

The old document ran out on April 30th, the striking workers have already voted down one proposal.

With the company boasting about record earnings, the protestors say they should be getting a better deal.

"I don't believe that any worker would take concessions from a company that's making that kind of profit," said picketer, Jeffrey Yost.

Caterpillar did not have a comment.
