WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. -- Caterpillar Racing will have a new look in 2013.
Driver Jeff Burton and car owner Richard Childress unveiled their new 31 Chevrolet in Peoria wednesday. A car that they admit hasa throw-back style and looks a little more like the cars on the road, not just on the track.
"Unfortunately, we got away from racing cars looking like street cars," said Burton. "This takes us a step forward in that. Also, in my opinion, this car will present better racing than we've seen the last several years."
The car that Caterpillar sowed off Wednesday is actually a protype of the car that Burton will drive in the Sprint Cup season. The new 31 Chevy will debut at Daytona in February.
