MACON COUNTY -- Hundreds of employees will be let go at Caterpillar's Decatur facility. In 60 days more than 460 supplemental employees will be out of a job. The company says products built in that facility are used in the mining industry, and there's not enough of a demand at this time.

Rachel Potts, Media Relations spokesperson for Caterpillar, Inc., stated, "We know this is difficult for our employees and their families, but we are taking steps to position the company for long-term success."
