Catholic Charities Plan to Appeal Adoption Case

  Catholic Charities isn't going down without a fight. The agency will filed an appeal against a ruling that allows the state to end its contracts for foster and adoptive care placement services. They had initialy asked a judge to protect their religious right to deny licenses to same sex couples, but a judge ruled against the religious group. According to court documents, the judge claimed no one is entitled to a state contract and if the agency couldn't follow Illinois law, then the state is not obligated  to continue its services with Catholic Charities. A lawyer for the agency says they plan to ask the judge to reconsider his decision.
