Chicago Man Tried for 10 Robberies in Twin Cities

  The last of three suspects, indicted for a number of holdups in the Twin Cities last year, is being tried by a judge rather than a jury. 22 year old Devoun Catledge of Chicago is charged in ten Twin City robberies. The prosecution Thursday rested its case on the second day of the bench trial while the defense will present its evidence September 23rd. Meantime, two other men, 19 year old Tiyon Byrd has already been sentenced to 34 years in prison after admitting his role in five holdups and one attempted holdup. 19 year old Deangelo Buchanan of Bloomington has already been sentenced as well. Police arrested Buchanan and Byrd for robberies of Thornton gas station on Hershey, Walgreens on Oakland, Beningos on Chestnut and Steak N Shake on Veterans Parkway. In all ten businesses were hit in a five month period.
