Peoria Furniture Store Seeks Dismissal of Charges

A Peoria furniture store, facing charges of fraudulent sales, failed Friday to have the case against it dismissed. Former States Attorney Kevin Lyons filed the charges last spring, alleging Illinois Furniture's going out of business ads violated the legal limit. The store's attorney Dan O'Day said earlier the death of the owner's wife prolonged the store's closure. The class B misdemeanor carries penalties of up to six months in jail and or a fine of up to 1500 dollars. The case will be heard October 24th.
