Peoria Woman Convicted of Theft

  A Peoria woman pleaded guilty Thursday to theft in connection with stolen funds from the village of Bartonville . Lucinda Fengel, also known as Lucinda Gardner, could receive from probation up to four years in prison when she is sentenced in March. Prosecutors say she stole several thousand dollars, pocketing cash payments for ordinance violations. The reported theft occurred from April 2008 until September 2009. Fengel is not related to the police chief.
