Two Peoria men, one of whom was just paroled from prison this summer, were indicted Tuesday for a double shooting August 15th on Peoria's south side. 20 year old Timothy Shumate is facing two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of mob action. Those charges stem from the August 15th shooting in which two people were wounded in the parking lot of South Metro Market on Starr Street. A second suspect, 24 year old Robert Lawson is also charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and unlawful use of a weapon. The arrests were made by the city's violent crimes task force which was formed to investigate a recent rash of shootings. Lawson, whose being held on two million dollar bond, and Shumate, whose being held on one million dollar bond, will appear in court Thursday.
