Final push for Home Sweet Home Thanskgiving donations

Home Sweet Home Ministries still needs about 100 turkey

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Home Sweet Home Ministries is making one final push in its Give Thanks campaign.

The non-profit is collecting turkeys and other Thanksgiving meal items to make sure everyone has a holiday meal this year.  They're still about 100 turkeys and 200 meal bags short of their 2,000 meal goal.

"Some people take it for granted that they're going to have a Thanksgiving meal and well, for others it might not be a possibility. This is one way we can help those in need to have a warm meal on Thanksgiving day," explained Leslie Bunge, Home Sweet Home's Communications Coordinator.

This is Home Sweet Home's 100th year distributing Thanksgiving meals.

You can buy turkey cards or meal bags at Hy-Vee and Shnucks in the Twin Cities. Home Sweet Home and Midwest Food Bank are also accepting food and money donations
