Yield: 2 servings
• ¼ cup ground coffee
• 2 tbsp salt
• 1 tbsp chili powder
• ½ tbsp. black pepper
• 2 each strip steaks
• 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
• ½ oz flour
• ½ oz vegetable oil or butter
• 4 oz beef broth
• 4 oz port wine
• Salt and pepper to taste
Combine the coffee, salt, chili powder, and pepper.
Rub the steaks with the oil and generously season the steaks with the coffee rub.
Grill, sauté, or bake until steak reaches desired temperature.
Heat butter or oil in a small saucepan. Add flour and stir to combine.
Add broth and wine and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Reduce to a simmer and cook for 2 – 3 minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
