Applications for Bloomington 101 being accepted

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The City of Bloomington is accepting applications for the spring 2018 session of Bloomington 101, a program aimed at giving community members an overview of their local government.

The program covers topics ranging from police and fire to finance to parks and recreation. The spring 2018 session meets Thursday evenings from March 22 to May 24 from 6-8 p.m.

The program is free and open to anyone 16 or older. However, the ten-week program is capped at 25 participants. To be considered, you must agree to attend at least eight of the ten classes.

"The Bloomington 101 program is a great way to learn about the City of Bloomington and engage with local government," says the city's Communication Manager Nora Dukowitz. "It covers a wide variety of topics and includes hands-on activities, facility tours and more."
