Bradley receives grant for Illinois Cooperative Study Program

PEORIA, Ill. - A local university received some financial help from the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

Bradley University received a grant worth over $34,000 for the Illinois Cooperative Study Program (ICWS).

The grants are awarded to support new and expanded cooperative education and internship opportunities for students in areas of education, engineering, mathematics, science, business, nursing, health, and computer information.

The program is designed to enhance employer partnerships, reduce reliance on student loans, and encourage permanent employment of Illinois graduates in the state.

Bradley's Smith Career Center administers the grant and is working with 20 different Peoria-area employers to offer grant-funded internship opportunities for the Spring and Summer 2018 semesters.
