Caterpillar hiring more than 200 positions in Central Illinois

CENTRAL ILLINOIS - Caterpillar is looking for hundreds of employees in welding and production, all in the Peoria area.

CAT announced the positions during a presentation at Manual High School Tuesday afternoon.

"There's opportunities available today," says East Peoria facilities manager Robert Brock. "For Caterpillar in the Peoria area, we have over 200 openings right now for production workers."

Caterpillar is in the second year of a 3 year, $300,000 partnership with Peoria Public Schools' Peoria Pathways to Prosperity program. The program encourages teens to finish high school, and prepares them for college or the workforce.
