The Peoria County Coroner confirms 21-year-old Kaitlyn Hines was driving south on Cameron Lane when she turned in front of a westbound vehicle.
She died at the scene.
Her son who was in the backseat was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center and is expected to recover.
The name of the driver in the second vehicle has not been released.

One person is dead and two others were taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries. The coroner arrived on the scene at 1:15 P.M.
The crash is under investigation.
Route 24 at Cameron Lane will be closed for 45 minutes to an hour.

Peoria County officials say the eastbound lanes of Route 24 will be closed temporarily, while the westbound lanes will be closed for an "extended period."
