Delavan, IL -
Whether it's stone, steel, bronze or wood, you'll find Morgan Elser in her cozy Delavan art studio, crafting her very big visions of creativity.
"Anything and all that I can sculpt out of, I will try to do," said Elser. "It's an amazing feeling that I've been given this gift."
It's a gift she says she stumbled upon almost two decades ago. Elser is a completely self-taught artist.
"One winter during a snowstorm, I sat in front of the fire place and tried sculpting and this little man came out of my hands. So that's basically what started everything," she stated.
For 16 years, Elser has been leaving her art mark in the Delavan community through her business Ebenezer Art Studio. Her precise techniques and attention to detail are captivating. But she isn't just keeping her skills to herself. Elser shares her passion by teaching art classes for all levels.
"Just encouraging people that you don't know you can do something unless you've tried it," she said.
When Elser isn't painting, sculpting or creating, she works hand in hand with the Tazewell Art Loop. The group helps bring visual and performing arts to Morton, Pekin and Delavan.
Elser stated, "It's just kind of sharing what you've been given and seeing if you can inspire someone else to find their gifts."
Elser says she's found her calling with art and hopes to inspire creativity in the community one sculpture at a time.
"I felt this is what the good Lord meant for me to be doing because I'd always searched. I've always been creative and I just didn't know what I was supposed to do until I started doing this," she said.
