DIY Solar Eclipse Viewer

A lot of places are starting to run out of approved solar eclipse glasses.

So, in case you still need something in order to watch the eclipse, WMBD wants to provide you with a DIY tutorial on how to make your very own solar eclipse viewer.

What you'll need:

  • Cereal Box
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Push Pin
  • Aluminum Foil

  1. Cut two squares on the side of your cereal box (Hint: make sure there's space between the squares)
  2. Tape aluminum foil over the left square
  3. Poke a hole through the aluminum foil using the push pin

And ... you're all set!

REMINDER: Face the opposite direction of the solar eclipse. The eclipse will project through the pin hole onto the other side of the cereal box. You'll watch the movement of the eclipse through the right square.

Happy solar eclipse watching!
