Due to a dispute involving a candidate for Attorney General, early voting and mailing by vote in the state has been delayed.
Vote by mail ballots and early voting will be available as soon as possible once the dispute is resolved. Scott Drury, candidate for Attorney General in the General Primary, was removed from the ballot last Friday but appealed and an emergency stay pending appeal was ordered by the 1st District Appellate Court, putting him back on the ballot.
Executive Director of the Peoria County Election Commission, Thomas Bride, stated that the ballot must be finalized and tested before the start voting or there will be the possibility of remaking every ballot voted once the court case is finished.
