Fight moves forward to bring Archbishop Sheen's remains to Central Illinois

PEORIA - The fight to bring Archbishop Fulton Sheen's remains to Central Illinois is heading back to court.

Sheen was born in El Paso in 1895 and died in 1979 in New York. His niece has filed a petition to have his remains moved from New York to Peoria.

A New York court ruled in her favor, but the New York Archdiocese appealed the decision. On October 10, the appellate court will hear the case.
