Former Illinois Governor seeking new office

CHICAGO - Former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn (D) is throwing his hat into the race for Attorney General.

He told the Chicago Sun Times he wants to be "a lawyer for the people."

Quinn still has some campaign cash in his account. He lost in a reelection race against current Governor Bruce Rauner in 2014.

Quinn joins a growing list of candidates who've announced they'd like to replace Lisa Madigan, after she announced she won't seek a fifth term.

Other candidates include:

  • Erika Harold (R)
  • Joe McMahon (R)
  • State Rep. Scott Drury (D)
  • State Sen. Kwame Raoul (D)
  • Jesse Ruiz (D)
