Foster dog owner looks for person who shot dog

PEORIA, Ill. - Peoria Police are looking for the person who shot a foster dog.

The dog's foster owner says the dog was outside in the side yard in the 300 block of West Hanssler Place Monday evening. Tuesday, she noticed the dog was bleeding from her side. As she was examining her, she found a projectile in the dog's side. She was able to get it out on her own. The dog was taken to the vet where she was prescribed antibiotics for the injury.

The foster owner doesn't know who would've shot the dog, although she did overhear a juvenile neighbor from down the street state he would shoot the dog while talking with other children.
