Illinois backs Hawaii in Lawsuit against Immigration

13 other states are also siding with the Aloha State

CHICAGO - Illinois is joining the list of 13 states fighting back against President Donald Trump’s revised travel ban.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan led the group that filed an amicus briefing in the District Court for Hawaii Monday. The attorneys general say the travel ban contains unconstitutional sections of the first travel ban and targets predominately Muslim countries.

Madigan claims the ban has caused harm to people who live, work and study in Illinois and other states.
