Local Girl Scouts react to Boy Scouts new rules

PEORIA, Ill - The Boy Scouts will soon include girls but not everyone's happy about it. The CEO of Girl Scouts Central Illinois says the organization is disappointed in the news that would allow girls to reach the highest rank of Eagle Scout.

Girl scouts claim that diversity is their strength. Adding its design is the best in the world in providing a girl-friendly environment, which creates a free space for girls to learn and thrive.

We can each serve families very effectively doing it the way that were doing it currently. We stay relevant, we stay current with what girls want and its an environment, an all girl environment that I would like to see us maintain,” Pam Kovacevich CEO, Girl Scouts Of Central Il.

The Girls Scouts offer younger siblings of current scouts, tag-a-long opportunities regardless of their gender.
