Local group raising money to spread awareness about suicide

PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. - Members of the Beau Grant Foundation were at Pour Bros in Peoria Heights Sunday afternoon to help raise money for their unique summer camp.

The camp helps kids from ages 8 to 18 cope with the loss of a loved one who committed suicide.

The group was selling raffle tickets, foundation clothing, and having a chili cook-off to raise to money for a basketball camp, which will help send kids to this camp.

"When you've been through something like losing a loved one to suicide you form this bond with people because you just feel comfortable," says Founder Jessie Grant. "Because you know what they've gone through and they know what you've gone through."
