Lockdown lifted at Washington school

WASHINGTON - Classes at a Washington junior high school returned to normal Wednesday afternoon after a lockdown in the morning hours.

It happened at Beverly Manor Junior High School.

Captain Craig Catton of the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office says the lockdown was only for a short period of time.

It was activated after authorities received a call about a violation of an order of protection. The suspect drove off, later crashing on School Street. He was taken into custody and is at the hospital with injuries.

No one else was hurt.

At this time the suspect's name is not being released and charges are unclear.
