Man who shot people attending a party sentenced to 60 years in prison

PEORIA, Ill. - The man who opened fire at a party in rural Peoria County last year is sentenced to 60 years in prison.

20-year-old Ryan Miller must serve 85% of his three 20-year-sentences, each of them for aggravated battery. He was also found guilty of a fourth charge, possession of a weapon by a felon, which carries a 3 year prison term.

The shooting happened in May of 2016 during a party in the 2800 block of Murphy Road in Hanna City. Miller fired a gun into the crowd, hitting 3 people. All of the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. Authorities believe a drug debt may have sparked the shooting.
