Mother of 3 Involved In Hit & Run Crash Out of Hospital

PEORIA, Ill. - A mother of three is still recovering after being injured in a March hit-and-run accident at Main and Adams in downtown Peoria. Liz Adams is out of the hospital, but her mother tells WMBD she still faces a long road to recovery.

Police say Robert D. Armstead was behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle when he hit a minivan carrying the 25-year-old mother of three and her small children. Armstead faces one count of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, if convicted he faces up to 7 years in prison.

Adams still has a partially collapsed lung, her broken ribs haven't healed, and she requires physical therapy to walk.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.
