PEKIN, Ill. - The Tazewell County Sheriff's Department is asking Pekin High School students to practice caution when having Nerf Gun Wars.
A resident living outside of Pekin called police, saying he observed people going in between houses and yelling something about a gun.
Authorities found 3 groups of people in 3 vehicles, which were later identified as students having a Nerf Gun War.
The Sheriff's Department says, with the stress surrounding last week's school shooting in Florida, the actions can be mistaken for an actual life-threatening event. The department is asking the teens to stop having Nerf Gun Wars in and around neighborhoods.
