New bike path addition opened

EAST PEORIA - East Peoria now has a new way for residents to get around.

City officials held a ribbon cutting on Thursday for the Camp St. Trail. This, in an attempt to keep bikers, walkers and runners safer. The city administrator said they are continuing the bike path on both sides of the levee thanks to a grant from the DNR. They plan to put a sculpture walk on the Camp St. side.

"It's just another item we're trying to promote; people walking, getting out, to jogging in The Levee District," said Jeff Eder, East Peoria's City Administrator.

Eder said they plan to continue the path, on the Camp St. side of the levee, further south toward Buffalo Wild Wings.
