O'Neil Pool improvement talks continue

BLOOMINGTON - The City of Bloomington is looking to re-vamp the O'Neil Pool and park.

Bloomington Parks and Recreation held a meeting last night to get some of the community’s ideas on what to do with the pool.

The Parks, Rec and Cultural Arts Director, Jay Tetzloff, said most people agreed on expanding the pool and moving the skate park further into the park.

He says no matter what they end up doing, they will ensure swim lessons stay available.

"What we heard more than anything was, yes they want a larger aquatics center, and they wanted concessions in the area,” said Tetzloff. “It's just something we used to do years ago. And trails around the park so those are things we're definitely going to look into."

Parks and Rec will meet again Thursday night to speak about the department and the master plan for the pool.
