Peoria Police warn of vehicle burglaries

A homeowner attempted to leave for work only to find his vehicle stolen

PEORIA, Ill. - A Peoria homeowner walked outside to get into his vehicle before work and found it stolen.

The burglary happened sometime between 1:55AM and 7:20AM Wednesday morning in the 3600 block of West Bennington Court.

The vehicle's owner says the white Ford E250 van was parked on the street in front of his residence overnight. He says the van was unlocked and the key was stuck in the ignition.

The vehicle is a full size utility van used for work, containing approximately $5,000 worth of tools.

According to a Peoria Police Department report, other vehicle burglaries have been reported in the area.
