Peoria Public School Graduates Encourage Younger Students to Focus on the Future

PEORIA, Ill. - It's almost graduation time at Peoria Public Schools and some graduates are already wearing their caps and gowns.

Graduating seniors from Manual, Peoria High, and Richwoods visited primary schools Friday for a "Parade of Graduates." They stopped by the schools after graduation practice at Bradley's Renaissance Coliseum.

The goal is to encourage the younger students to stay in school and picture future opportunities if they stay dedicated to their studies.

"I just hope that when they see us walking through the hall that they'll know wherever they come from whatever background they come from they'll just reach graduation and be successful no matter where they come from." Richwoods High School Graduate, Emma Baumgartel, said.

"It's just like of like to give them hope and let them know that they'll be where we are one day." Richwoods Graduate, Marissa Barber, said.
