Riverfront Museum endowment surpasses $10 million

PEORIA, IL - The Peoria Riverfront Museum's endowment has surpassed $10 million.

The privately funded museum, which receives no government funding, uses the investment income that the endowment earns to cover 13% of its budget for operations and programming.

The endowment is funded by planned gifts, private campaign contributions, and investment growth.

"With a focus on ensuring that the Peoria Riverfront Museum is on sustainable financial footing, it has been a priority to build an endowment that supports the important mission of our community institution," says museum board chair Sid Ruckriegel. "The board is pleased to announce that together we have reached a milestone on this journey with the endowment reaching $10 million," he says. "Through such financial stewardship, the museum will play a key role in the lives of our future generations, as well."

The endowment helps sustain and grow programs that benefits others in Peoria.
