Salvation Army enters final stretch of fundraising campaign

PEORIA - The Salvation Army is calling for your help as it hits the final stretch of this year's major campaign.

The non-profit has raised more than $1 million in its annual Red Kettle Campaign, but is still about $600,000 short with three weeks to go.

"One of the things we pledge, is we are not going to turn people away," says Rich Draeger with the Salvation Army. "So if that's the case and we don't quite get to that $1.92 million, we have to be a lot more strategic on how we use our staff. Maybe we change hours to make sure we can meet the need, but not drain our resources at the same time."
