Salvation Army warms up for annual coat drive

Winter is still a few weeks away but the Salvation Army is already preparing for the colder weather.

Our newspartner, WJBC Radio, reports you can start dropping off coats, hats, gloves or cash donations at various locations. It's part of the organization's annual coat drive.

You can drop donations off at the Salvation Army's headquarters at 611 W. Washington St. in Bloomington, at any Gold's Gym and Gold's Gym Express locations in Bloomington-Normal, at OrangeTheory Fitness and all Commerce Bank branch locations in Bloomington-Normal (through Thanksgiving).

The drive will run through mid-January.

- Bellflower Lion’s Den Cafe (8-10 a.m.)
- Saybrook Village Park (10 a.m.-noon)
October 28
- Arrowsmith Uptown Park (8-10 a.m.)
- Ellsworth Methodist Church (10 a.m.-noon)
November 4
-LeRoy Fire Department (8-10 a.m.)
- Downs Fire Department (10 am.-noon)
November 11
- Heyworth Hucks Store (8-10 a.m.)
- Towanda Village Hall (10 a.m.-noon)
