Tom Price out amid scrutiny over flights

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Tom Price resigned as Secretary of Health and Human Services Friday, with President Trump accepting the resignation.

According to the White House Press Secretary, the President plans to instate Don Wright of Virginia as Acting Secretary, effective tonight. Wright is currently the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health, and Director of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.

Price's resignation comes amid controversy. In the past week, we've learned Price was using government aircraft for personal trips and chartering private jets for official business.

Price was confirmed as the HHS Secretary in February 2017.
