Uftring Strong: Making the most out of a tragic situation

It's been just over a month since a fire destroyed the Uftring Chevrolet building in Washington.

Fortunately, the business only moved a few hundred yards to a new, temporary location at 1750 Washington Road.

Employees worked long hours to transform the building into something that could withstand its daily operations. From putting in new walls to cutting out service windows, the building has come a long way in just a few weeks.

The sales department is fully operational; however, employees are working to finish up the service department and body shop.

"Our guys have done a lot and the community of Washington really supported us," says Joe Knapp, general manager of Uftring Chevrolet. "Connect Church, who owns this building, and we're renting it from them, has been more than gracious in allowing us to move in and set up shop."

Along with the new location, Uftring Chevrolet has created "Uftring Strong" apparel. All of the proceeds will go directly to those first responders who helped the day of the fire.
