Unit 5: No discipline for students who take a knee during anthem

In preparation for tonight's football game, Unit 5 has announced that it will seek to protect the Constitutional Rights of free speech for students.

That's according to our newspartner, WJBC Radio.

Students will face no discipline for locking arms or taking a knee during the National Anthem.

Guidelines have been sent to Unit 5 principals, athletic directors, and coaches.

This comes as professional athletes continue to take a knee or stand with arms interlocked during games in what they're saying is a protest against racism in America.

Right now, there is no word of any planned demonstrations but if students do protest, officials ask fans to show tolerance even if they disagree with what they are seeing.
