United Way Campaign Kick Off

PEORIA, Ill. - An organization addressing our community's needs is kicking off a campaign to campaign to continue its work.

The Heart of Illinois United Way brings people from business, labor, government, health and human services together to provide critical care programs, all with the goal of improving the quality of life for people in central Illinois.

The 2017 Heart of Illinois campaign has already raised $1.4 million dollars this summer.

"We try to fund programs within the member agencies that will have the greatest impact and greatest outcome." Campaign Co-Chair, Bill Pape, says.

After the kickoff breakfast, the United Way hosted its 26th Annual Day of Caring. More than 1,600 volunteers provided more than 6,600 hours of work at partner agencies throughout central Illinois.
