PEORIA, Ill. - The Peoria County Election Commission is relocating to Brandywine.
When they first moved into its current location, they knew it would be temporary since the building was not designed for their operations.
With limited parking and a lack of space, the Peoria County Board passed a measure allowing the organization to move.
"The new location and the design of it will allow for more space for equipment, a lot more parking, and a much bigger lobby that we can expand our contract based on the amount of voting we're going to be having," says Tom Bride with the Peoria Election Commission.
The organization hopes to have construction done by the end of the summer and move into its new location Labor Day weekend.
