NORMAL - Residents are one step closer to having a Hyatt Place hotel, pool, and fine dining restaurant located uptown.

After years of planning, final designs are submitted to fill the hole in the Uptown Circle.

It includes an eight story hotel with 114 guest rooms and a six story luxury apartment building with 36 units.

The first floor includes space for shops, parking, and a "destination" restaurant but its name has yet to be released.

While the project has hit roadblocks in the past, City Manager Mark Peterson is confident business will boom once it's complete.

“I think that both the hotel and apartment project will be very successful.  I think it will be full i think there will be a waiting list to get in that apartment complex because these are going to be beautiful units.”

The redevelopment agreement will be finalized this month.

Leaders are confident the project will break ground in December.
