Shirley Blackburn owns and operates the Partridge Point Orchard in Metamora. She said her apple crop was washed out by last year’s weird weather pattern.
However, this season is a different story. She said the little green apples are growing and the heat and moisture is only helping them do that. “We've got lots of them and they should be good flavor with the heat and the moisture and so forth they should be nice sized and they should be good flavor this year.”
Blackburn’s orchard opens to apple pickers in the fall. She expects the crop to be ready in mid-September.
