Authorities Arrest Two Men in Glasford Bank Robbery

GLASFORD - The Peoria County Sheriff's department has arrested two men in connection with a morning bank robbery in Glasford. Police say 26-year-old Kevin Angus and 24-year-old Josh Wernsman were taken into custody during an investigation into the robbery.  Authorities say they also recovered several thousand dollars in cash.

The robbery happened at the Glasford State Bank in Glasford just after 10:00 a.m.  A bank employee, who was hiding in a basement bathroom was able to call 911. The suspect was armed with a knife and left the bank on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

Fulton County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle with a person who matched the description of the suspect near cemetery road and route nine near Canton. They determined that individual was not connected to the robbery.

Authorities also checked an area near Mapleton where a possible suspect was located, but found nothing related to the case.

The robbery forced Illini Bluffs schools to go on lockdown around 10:15.
