PEORIA - The Dream Center continues to work to have enough money to help kids in need get ready for school.
But a recent donation from Samaritan Ministries is helping.
As we reported a couple weeks ago, a major sponsor of this weekend's Backpack Peoria dropped out, leaving the program more than $40,000 short.
Samaritan Ministries announced a donation of $10,000 this week to support the cause.
This Saturday, the Dream Center looks forward to giving as many students as possible the supplies they need for the upcoming school year.
