Over 100 youngsters turned out for Bike Rodeo in Peoria’s Safety Town.
They learned about road safety while cruising around with the parents at their side.
Kids also played with model brains and learned why it’s important to wear helmets.
“Just have a better understanding of the rules of the road, and also make sure they leave safer than they came,” said Lisa Maynard, whose with the IDOT Injury Prevention Program at the American Red Cross.
The American Red Cross and Illinois Department of Transportation partnered with a couple local groups to put on the vent.
Free bike maintenance checks were also part of the day
