PEORIA - Those needing a little encouragement to seek out health care are being given a helping hand.

The Peoria Friendship House hosted its 8th Annual Bilingual Health Fair today,

It provided free blood pressure, dental and cholesterol screenings.

Thirty booths were there to give out life-saving information.

The Friendship House is targeting those living on Peoria's north side, who might
be unable or unwilling to seek out health care services otherwise.

“This is a very heavy area with Latino families. So we try to staff as many bilingual individuals to help. So having access, resources for them is very helpful,” said Program Director. Sandy Arreguin,

Free mammograms were also offered.
