The City is currently accepting applications for its Bloomington 101 Program.
It's designed to give participants an overview of their local government.
The fall session will meet on Thursday evenings from September to November.
The class is free and open to anyone 16 or older.
"The citizens will learn more about police, fire, parks and rec and then they'll give us more ideas. And if they're better informed, they'll give us feedback and we'll make better decisions," added Tari Renner, Mayor of Bloomington.
Only 20 participants can enroll in the 10 week program.
Applicants must be able to attend 8 of the 10 classes.
To apply, you can fill out an application at City Hall or submit your application online through the City's website at www.cityblm.org.
