Bloomington Police Make Arrest in Suspected Arson

BLOOMINGTON- Bloomington Police have made an arrest in connection with a suspected arson that happened overnight.

Twenty-five year old Joshua Hoeniges was arrested for attempted murder, residential arson, and aggravated arson.

Firefighters responded to the 1200 block of West Walnut Street around two this morning.

When they arrived, the house was fully involved with people trapped inside.

Police officers on the scene assisted in removing the occupants.

Two were transferred to the hospital by ambulance.

Damage to the house is estimated at $25,000.

Fire officials are investigating the cause as intentional.

The State Fire Marshall's office even brought in arson dogs to help determine what started the fire.
