PEORIA - Across the country, colleges and universities are updating their procedure to manage and prevent sexual misconduct.

The changes come from the Federal Office of Education's recommendations.

Bradley University spent the last year reviewing and revising its own policies.

This fall, Bradley will open a new office to better handle the delicate cases.

The university also changed student orientation to emphasize the role prevention can play on campus.

Nathan Thomas the Vice President for Student Affairs told us, "One of our main responsibilities is the safety and security of our students. Anything we can do to improve that environment for them becomes critical to our mission as a university."

Bradley University encourages any student or faculty who witnesses or is the victim of sexual misconduct to report the crime to one of the several agencies on campus.
