Caterpillar’s engines might cost Big Yellow some big money.
The Wall Street Journal reports the manufacturer faces 15 lawsuits from companies that bought its 2007 truck and bus engines.
They claim the engines have regularly broken down and even caught fire.
Cat got out of the truck and engine market four years ago.
Company officials told the Wall Street Journal they are addressing the claims of alleged performance issues.
About eight months ago Cat paid $900 to settle a suit with a Texas school district over its bus engine fires.
